The film has a unique and life-cycle of love, jump, and it comes with time, the different phases of a relationship from their order. It is an intelligent and fascinating, and that both fantastic. Unfortunately, like the boldness of this film, it is difficult to shake the feeling that there is a different set of rules, is the restoration of the place: art house indie dramedy.
The title, (500) days in the summer, comes from the name of the girl in the film, played by Zooey Deschanel, and 500 days is the period in which they are a part of life the main character. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Tom Hansen, an architect working on an employment shit a greeting card company is very pleased with the new interns, was Finn. After some clumsy attempts to capture her finally win more and have a Jacuzzi for romance. A long time ago, but the changing of the tides, and the summer begins to me to wonder if Tom is really the right man for her, from where Tom spiral into depression.
(500) days of summer reminds both Eternal Sunshine Spotless Mind and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where he dissects the development of a relationship (albeit on a shorter duration). In this case, however, there is no science fiction in order to facilitate the movement through time. It is a story submitted for the good of the listener with an omniscient narrator them through it. The story itself seems to create a kind of fable, the short and neat, but it can also be emotional, that we are at the end of the arms. Although the constant to jump through time seems to be a good idea might be, I do not know that it really used their potential here. For the majority of snapshots appear randomly, and not always very well connected with each other.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of my favorite and future actors working today, and during his next appearance of integration in GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra obviously misinformed, it is a great role for him and another strong performance. There is surf on the line between comedy and drama, very good, and in some points on the hyper-reality of his role in 10 Things I Hate About You. Zooey Deschanel is so attractive as never before, and moved, but the problem is that she has played this ditzy girl a little too often lately (Gigantisch, Weeds, The Happening). His character is never really all that meat, but I suppose that since the film from the perspective of Tom, it was decided, its mystery.
Scenes in this film stood out as bright as Joseph Gordon-Levitt sequence dancing and singing, after the first night together, black and white film art and the dream sequence, and use of a screen contrast "expectations" with the "reality ". Marc Webb has a name for himself as director of music video, and with the help of the beautiful photo of Eric Berg Steel (Juno), each of which would have awesome short films on their own initiative. Strange, I was just looking for Woody Allen Annie Hall, for the first time a week ago, I saw that, and there must be a source of inspiration for a few moments surrealists.
Now there is something in this film a little merit a minor rant. Can you tell us please, please, PLEASE have a moratorium on the release dramedies indie bands for a certain time? Hey, I have nothing against it, The Smiths, and they seem to vary according to the tone of the movie is good, but the scene in the elevator and the referencing of the band just felt so artificial. That does not mean that people are not based on common interests, but between that and Jo-Go Levitt karaoke sing The Pixies and the discussion on their favorite of the Beatles, it's really Diablo Cody area here. And yes, I have noticed that Zooey Deschanel in a group itself, but when Tom and summer were less than a lover of music from the beginning, it would not appear even superficially and space. I am all for good music in the films, but not so pointed out to be.
At the end, although I do not believe that all was particularly innovative, I have to assess a large number of bits and pieces of the (500) days of summer. It is not necessarily funny, and it is not really a Tearjerker, but it is nice, pleasant, and certainly deserves to be seen - especially if you are in the summer blockbuster blues. It is a solid start Marc Webb, and even if they do not fall under the category of unfortunate "romantic comedy", a film, it's very much about your expectations in this category.
